"daffodils" Definition
- a famous poem (1807, revised in 1815) by William Wordsworth. It is remembered by older British people as a poem studied at school, and is considered to be a typical example of Romantic poetry. Its first lines are: “I wandered lonely as a cloudThat floats on high o'er vales and hills,When all at once I saw a crowd,A host, of golden daffodils;Beside the lake, beneath the trees,Fluttering and dancing in the breeze.”
